NEW RICHMOND --- Henry H. (Pete) Martin, 82, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday at his home on Rt. 1 New Richmond. He has been ill five years and seriously so two weeks. A farmer and resident of near New Richmond for 35 years, he was born Jan. 21, 1883, at Plano, Tex., to Powhatten and Mary Jackson Martin. He attended school in Tomkinsville, Ky., and was a member of the New Richmond Christian Church. Mr. Martin was married to Gertrude Spencer Nov. 20, 1912, at Munfordsville, Ky. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Pietro of Indianapolis;. two grandsons, Jerry H. Matricia of Ft. Hood, Tex., and Robert Matricia of Rt. 1 New Richmond; a granddaughter, Miss Marta Pietro of Indianapolis; a step-grandson, Joseph Pietro Jr. of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Poca Owens of Mud Lick, Ky., and Mrs. Lola Bray of Crawfordsville; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Helms Funeral Chapel in Linden. Reverends Arthur Schenck and Jim Hannebohn will officiate. Burial will be in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Sunday.
